“Rochester Boat Club is Relocating to the Village of Fairport”

Rochester, Aug 7 / Rochester Boat Club, Inc. (RBC), has signed a letter of intent with Conking and Calabrese to lease their ~5000sq ft steel structure located at 10 Lift Bridge Lane West in the Village of Fairport. RBC is delighted to find a permanent home in Fairport. The club has plans to install a dock and to refurbish the Fairport structure for use as their new boathouse. Additionally, starting in the spring of 2016, RBC will be offering rack space for lease to private sculling boat owners, scholastic programs, and/or collegiate programs.[/three_fifth]

RBC is a 501(c)3 masters (adult) community rowing club that offers Learn-to-Row and Learn-to-Scull classes as well as team sweep rowing, and classes for novice and experienced scullers. Rochester Boat Club’s mission is improving health and fitness and promoting athletic competition.

RBC recently applied for a NYS Canal Corporation capital grant to be used for the planned boathouse development. The award of this grant is expected in the fall of this year and contracted development to start in 2016.

RBC is presently rowing out of the Pittsford Crew boathouse also on the Erie canal.
